May 3rd, from 10-1p
Plants have grown alongside humans since the beginning, or rather vice-verse. They have travelled across the world with us, and tend to show up in places we need them, and their medicine, most.
This week, we're diving in with Hawthorn. Known for their ability to support the heart, there is so much more to learn about this sweet plant. All aerial parts of Hawthorn can be worked with - flowers, leaves, and berries.
Throughout the day, you'll learn about the history of Hawthorn, stories that have been woven into how humans relate to Hawthorn, psychospiritual tidbits, and how to incorporate Hawthorn into all facets of your day-to-day for stronger health and vitality.
In addition to talking about this herb, you'll also get a lot of hands-on experiences learning how to make your own preparations, specifically chosen to bring out the best in Hawthorn!
What you can expect from this 3 hour workshops:
- The class will start with more of a sit down lecture/conversation
- An all group project: Making a medicinal strength tea
-
Then we will break into smaller groups of rotating stations for quicker (15-20min) experiences with Hawthorn
- Haw ketchup
- Choose your own adventure tincture making
- Studying the plant through art
All workshops include:
- A binder with printed material and space for note taking, as well as fun recipes to try out at home
- Party Favors (ie. 1oz of dried plant material and a bonus preparation)
- Herb of the week inspired snacks
- Herb of the week water infusion/tea
- You will also be able to take home all the herbal preparations we do in class

If you miss a workshop that you are registered for, you will still receive the printed material and “party favors”. The Printed materials will guide you through the steps to complete the in class projects at home, along with other recipes to try. Unfortunately due to time and harvesting constraints, we cannot provide fresh plant material for your at home projects but most plants will be widely available should you choose to purchase them or harvest them yourself.
