Reishi
Traditionally, reishi is valued as a tonic herb that promotes radiant health and longevity. Reishi works deeply at strengthening and improving our immune system. It has a balancing effect on immunity, stress hormones, heart and brain function. Reishi Mushroom is classified as an adaptogen which helps the body deal with stress and fight off infections.
This tincture is made with so much love and fungus appreciation! I hand harvest reishi mushroom from the cascade mountains of the pacific northwest. Once I return from the mountains I cut and dry the polypore shelf mushroom. I then macerate the mushroom using a double extraction method which I learned from one of my most amazing teachers from Vermont. I weigh out the dried mushrooms and split in half. I tincture one half for a moon cycle. Once the tincture is pressed, I decoct the other half on the stove for a day (which is the method used in Traditional Chinese Medicine). I cool the decoction, strain and blend with the tincture and small amount of glycerine.
