🌲 Western Red Cedar & Cedarwood ~ WR Cedar is considered a community tree ~ the Grandmother of the Rainforest which holds deep sacred grounding Earth energy. They help relieve anxiety & grounds you, as they connect with the primal source of life to resolve feelings of separateness. Topically, pine is deeply cooling and is incredible at easing inflammation, which is great for relieving pain and irritation. Sap is the bandaid of the tree, and it works similarly to our skin. This makes it wonderful for helping relieve the pain and cause of ingrown hairs and other skin irritations whether from shaving or sweat rashes. They are extremely antimicrobial, anti-bacterial & anti-fungal, helping protect the body & rid toxins.
 
🌲 Douglas Fir needles, pitch & resin ~ Douglas Fir is the tree of Oregon, we are surrounded by them and they are the second tallest tree in the USA. They are amazing teachers in that they adapt to their environment, able to withstand significant fires and the below zero temps. And their ability to adapt is their offerings to us. They are the protectors of the forest. The simple scent of this tree oil reminds us to be more adaptive and immediately allows us to be more gentle with ourselves and aware of the Earth beneath our feet. They also has a plethora of antiseptic & anti-microbial properties that help fight infections. The pitch and resin is created by a tree when they are wounded. It is their natural scab and their pitch and resin provides us with the same healing properties. Wonderful for inflammation, wounds, burns, scrapes, amazing for joint pain, and so much more.
 
🌲 Ponderosa Pine needles, pitch & resin ~ Their scent is thought to have the incredible ability to help release self-doubt, self-defeating behaviors and paralyzing emotions from the past that no longer serve us. They've been utilized by the PNW Indigenous People's for centuries both spiritually and medicinally. Ponderosa was valued especially for its antiseptic and vulnerary properties, using it to treat a range of skin problems, cuts, wounds, burns etc. They are full of antiseptic, antimicrobial, disinfectant properties and are also high in vitamins C and A, as well as many minerals and antioxidants. They help ease inflammation and muscular pains.
 
🌲Infused in Oils of ~ Organic Grapeseed, Olive, Avocado Oil & Shea Butter ~ there are endless medicinal benefits to these oils, and when combined together with these herbal allies, they create a beautiful oil that penetrates deeply into the skin. They are high in antioxidants & vitamins, rich in healthy fats, which may help reduce inflammation, moisturize and help protect against skin damage.
 
🌲Arrowroot ~ Arrowroot powder has so many benefits and is a wonderful alternative to baking soda, for folks with sensitive skin. Arrowroot is lightly drying and helps absorb moisture, giving this deodorant a soft silky feel and doesn’t leave you feeling greasy. Arrowroot contains many beneficial minerals and vitamins such as zinc, iron, potassium, and Vitamin B6. Arrowroots may help prevent skin irritation and actually provides relief to skin irritations such as sweat or razor rashes, making it a wonderful ingredient in a soothing deodorant. 
 
🌲Diatomaceous Earth ~ This incredible powder is a naturally occurring, soft, and super fine plant and algae fossil. It’s crushed into a white powder, with a similar feeling to pumice. This powder is toxic free and as a deodorant, it’s fantastic for sensitive skin. Being composed mostly of silica, this powder is a highly absorbent and works as an odor blocker and eliminator. Silica has many health benefits to soothing skin conditions and may help ease irritation. 
 
🌲Kaolin Clay ~ This wonderful clay is a white mineral clay that is known as one of the silkiest clays there is, helping give this deodorant its silky, creamy feel. It is magical in that it easily absorbs both water and oil without drying out the skin. Most deodorants use Bentonite Clay, however Bentonite Clay has a very high pH of 8.5 which is disruptive to our microbiome. Kaolin Clay has a pH of 4.5, which is extremely close to our skin’s natural pH of 4.7. Therefore it is much more gentle on our skin, as Bentonite Clay is known to be more harsh. 
 
🌲Zinc Oxide ~ Zinc Oxide is a natural alternative to the reason commercial deodorants use aluminum. It is a natural mineral that is tried and tested and has been used in natural cosmetics, sunscreens and deodorants for many years. Whenever we sweat, the natural bacteria on our skin begin to multiply. Thanks to its antimicrobial properties, zinc oxide helps by effectively eliminating odor-causing bacteria and helping minimize the growth of new bacteria.
 
🌲Magnesium Hydroxide ~ Magnesium hydroxide is a form of magnesium, which is a nutrient that is necessary for our wellbeing and ability to function. Our cardiovascular, immune and nervous systems all need magnesium to function normally. This powder is a healthy alternative to aluminum which is toxic, and featured in almost all commercial deodorants. Magnesium Hydroxide is a fantastic replacement as it helps prevent excessive wetness and helps neutralize and reduce odor causing bacteria without being toxic to us.
 
• CARE INSTRUCTIONS •
Whether you have shaved or weedy underarms, to get the most out of what this deodorant offers you only need to thoroughly lather a pea size of this paste as needed. It becomes transparent as you rub it in, however it is made with white powders, so be mindful not to use too much, and to rub in thoroughly to avoid transferring onto clothing. If there is residue left on your clothing, make a simple baking soda paste and rub it out before washing. Just like when switching to natural hair products, if you are transitioning off of commercial deodorants there may be a slight transitional period.
 
Something else to keep in mind is that water and oil don’t mix, they create bacteria. So definitely keep water out of your jar ❤️
 
The other thing to note is this deodorant is a “paste” made of oils and powders, so depending where you live it could get softer in the summer. If you’d like to keep it hard or extend the shelf life you’re welcome to store in it your refrigerator!
