About the Event
We've teamed up with Friends of Buford Park & Mt. Pisgah for a morning of "Restorative Wildcrafting"!
What is "Restorative Wildcrafting"? It is a method of harvesting invasive wild plants to support the health and vitality of the native landscape. Invasive plant species can cause great environmental harm, including stunting the growth of native plants. At Rooted Remedies, we believe it is crucial to pair the increasing interest in wildcrafting with the education on ethical and sustainable practices so the natural areas can continue to thrive for generations.Â
In this workshop, you get to:
•Learn from experts in their field about the importance of mitigating the populations of invasive species so native species can thrive again
•Experience being out in the field and wildharvesting different herbs
•Make your own herbal extracts with the plants you harvest with 1-on-1 help from a local herbalist
•Learn how to work with the extracts to build your home apothecary
•Take home the extracts you make - at least 8oz of tincture/oil from each plant we work with
•Feel more empowered by sharpening/adding new skills to support your health and wellness
•Connect and Build amazing community
