About the Event

We've teamed up with Friends of Buford Park & Mt. Pisgah for a morning of "Restorative Wildcrafting"!

What is "Restorative Wildcrafting"? It is a method of harvesting invasive wild plants to support the health and vitality of the native landscape. Invasive plant species can cause great environmental harm, including stunting the growth of native plants. At Rooted Remedies, we believe it is crucial to pair the increasing interest in wildcrafting with the education on ethical and sustainable practices so the natural areas can continue to thrive for generations.

At this event, you'll learn

•About Saint Johns Wort and Ox Eye Daisies, and other invasive species that tend to take over an ecosystem

•How to harvest Saint Johns Wort and Ox Eye Daisies in a way that helps restore the land and native ecosystem

•Ways to work with Saint Johns Wort and Ox Eye Daisy, and make herbal preparations for home remedies

What to bring

•Waterproof shoes, or shoes you don't mind getting muddy and wet

•Clothes you don't mind getting muddy

•Hat or Sunglasses to protect your eyes form the sun

•Water bottle

•Snacks (if needed)

•Notebook and pen

•Your curiosity and sense of adventure!

All materials for making an herbal extracts will be provided by Kassaundra.

Wildcrafting is a wonderful way to get to work with the plants and get to know them. It can also provide you with more confidence on your plant journey, whether you are making herbal products, teaching others, seeing clients, or want to enhance your own self-care. Come join us in the field to learn about, harvest, and make herbal preparations with Teasel.

*30% of each ticket will go directly to Friends of Buford Park & Mt. Pisgah as another way to invest in the health of this beautiful public space so future generations get to continue to enjoy it.

We will meet at the Buford Park Native Nursery Parking Lot. If you don't have transportation, but still want to come, please email Kassaundra@rootedremedies.co
