About the Event

In this series, you’ll learn how to intentionally work with the herbs around you to support your body, mind, and spirit.

Herbalism is the original form of supporting your wellness and vitality. Every culture in the world works with herbs in some form or another. From drinking tea/coffee in the morning to taking tinctures, herbs are an integral part of our lives.

This is for anyone interested in learning a new skill set when it comes to self care and wanting to feel more empowered in your health and wellness. Each month, we’ll create a different herbal preparation while diving into each plant’s offering and how to work with them.

When you register for the entire series, you receive:

Tinctures

In this class, you'll learn the difference between the folk method and the scientific method for making a tincture. Using the folk method, we will experiment with using both fresh and dried herbs so you can experience the difference between the two preparations.

•We'll be working with Stinging Nettles

Oils/Salves

To turn an infused oil into a salve, simply add bees wax. The bees wax allows the herbal preparation to stay at the surface of your skin instead of penetrating into the tissues like oils do. Bees wax is high in vitamin A, as well as full of anti-inflammatory properties. It also provides addition preservation qualities.

•We'll be working with Calendula and Plantain

Oxymels

Herbal oxymels are a simple and convenient herbal preparation that creates an ideal balance between vinegar and honey for supporting the immune and respiratory systems, soothe dry throats, and temper digestive issues.

We will be making 2 different combinations:

•Tulsi, Ginger, and Blueberry

•Lemon balm, Nettle, and Rose hips
